ABOUT US – OUR STORY
STATO Martinelli Bespoke Shoes was founded in 2016 by Paolo Martinelli, a young shoemaker from Lake Garda (Italy) who, after several years of apprenticeship, decides to take by the lake the old tradition of the handmade and made to measure italian shoemaking. In STATO Martinelli you can find ready to wear handmade shoes or you can order a bespoke pair of shoes choosing your personal shape, model, leather and other components to your liking. Moreover, you can bring your shoes for reparation, resoling, polishing and everything concerning high quality shoe care. The goal of Paolo’s work is to grant quality and concern for detail, which only a totally handcrafted product can reach. The realization of a bespoke shoe can take months and in this period of time the artisan and the client work together for the creation of a unique and inimitable result. Starting from the dreams and needs of the client, the artisan Paolo Martinelli is able to craft the shoe that can last for an entire lifetime.
ITALIAN ELEGANCE
THE CREATION OF THE BESPOKE SHOE
- STYLE: Oxford, derby, buckle, loafer, boot style, ballerina shoe, sandal.
- LEATHER: High quality fine calf leather, full grain and suede, brushed calf, cordovan, deer skin and, by request, other exotic skins such as crocodile and lizard.
- SOLE: The traditional leather sole (Blake, Goodyear or Nowegian welt ) or the more functional rubber sole.
- ACCESSORIES AND ORNAMENTS: Buckles, laces, elastic bands… but also more personal choices as color of the stiching, height of heels, brogue and medallion.. A fitting shoe is created, allowing, on the one hand, the client to get a sense of how the shoe will fit and look and, possibly, revise some aesthetic preferences, and, on the other hand, the artisan to take the final measurement and check for even the slightest pressure to the foot. Once the fitting shoe is approved, the artisan Paolo Martinelli begins the crafty and somehow magical process of turning natural materials into a refined and unique object. After few weeks, the artisan will deliver the shoes to the client. The shoes come with the shoetree and personal shoecare instructions.

Choice from 3 pre-established fits (adjusted to the foot) and 5 models. Blake or Goodyear welt.
Delivery time: 60 days.
- BESPOKE:
How explained in the paragraph THE CREATION OF THE SHOE, this options consists of several appointments: measurments, choice of components, creation of the last, trial shoe.

Delivery time: from 90 days.
- WOMEN SHOES:
Ballerina, Boot styles, Sandals. Both in MTO and Bespoke.
- READY TO WEAR:
A full range of handmade models (for men and women) are available at any time in the Show Room in Desenzano del Garda.
SHOE CARE
STATO Martinelli also offers services of high level restoration, resoling Goodyear welted shoes , professional polishing and colouring.

THE
ATELIER
The Atelier STATO MARTINELLI is in Via Rambotti 16 Desenzano del Garda (BS -Italy).
Here you can find the artisan’s workshop, the Bespoke area where measures are taken and components (leather, model, accessories,..) chosen, and the Show Room where you can buy your ready to wear shoes and leather accessories (belts, wallets, document folders).
